Workshop Zemplín

The Ministry of Environment of the SR and the Interdepartmental Commission of the Geoparks Network of the SR, in cooperation with the Association Tokaj Wine Road and the District Authority Trebišov (DA Trebišov), organized in the municipality of Malá Tŕňa on 19 December 2016 Workshop for interested public concerning perspectives of building a geopark in the territory of Zemplín. The aforementioned workshop was organized based on the Resolution of the Government of the SR No. 480 of 19 October 2016 concerning the Report of the territory of Zemplín with perspective of its inclusion among geoparks as a part of the information campaign of the Ministry of Environment of the SR and the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the SR (MTC RR SR) for the approved material. Approximately 30 stakeholders participated in the workshop (the Authorized Representative of the Government for the least developed districts, the Ministry of Environment of the SR, the State Nature Conservancy of the SR, the State Geological Institute of Dionýz Štúr, the town of Trebišov, the District Authority Trebišov, the Association Tokaj Wine Road, the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnology of the Technical University in Košice, tourism organizations, wine growers, and any other local actors of tourism). Seven interesting lectures with discussion were included in the agenda, and various strategic and promotional materials of the Ministry of Environment of the SR and Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the SR were provided to the participants.
