Action Plan for Implementation of Measures to Ensure the Implementation of the Updated Geopark of the Slovak Republic
As part of the Plan of main tasks of the Ministry of Environment of the SR, in December 2015, the Geology and Natural Resources Section submitted for the internal consultation procedure the material ”Action plan for implementation of measures for ensuring implementation of the updated Concept of Geoparks in the SR“ (action plan) that was subsequently approved in January 2016 at the Management Meeting of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic.
The action plan has been drawn up based on the measure No. 4 ”Update of the Concept of Geoparks in the SR“ (concept) approved by the Government of the Slovak Republic with its Resolution No. 15 of 7 January 2015, and it includes the analysis of the initial situation in relation to the SWOT analysis that was generally conducted for all basic areas influencing issues of geoparks and defines measures for ensuring the implementation of the concept and the specification of activities within them.
The implementation of measures resulting from the mentioned concept will help considerably to achieve the basic target, i.e. a functioning and sustainable form of popularization and getting to know the most important geotopes as well as the protection of natural and cultural heritage for the future generations.
