Study trip to geoparks in the Czech Republic and Poland
From 14 to 18 October 2019, in the area of National Geopark Podbeskydí (Štramberk), National Geopark Železné hory (Chrudim), Global Geopark UNESCO Bohemian Paradise (Turnov) and Geopark Góry i Pogórze Kaczawskie (Dobków), the Slovak Environment Agency carried out a study trip “Strengthening International Cooperation between Established and Emerging Geoparks of the Slovak Republic and Geoparks in the Czech Republic and Poland”.
The aim of the study trip was to strengthen national cooperation between established geoparks of the Slovak Republic (Novohrad-Nógrád Geopark, Banská Štiavnica Geopark, Banská Bystrica Geopark) and Slovak geoparks under preparation (Zemplín Geopark, Little Carpathian Geopark) and international cooperation with geoparks in the Czech Republic and Poland, while aiming at examples of good practice, implementation of positive projects by self-governments, examples of cooperation between self-governments, protected area administrations, the third sector and the citizens themselves.
